What inspired you to become a designer?

“My mum made such an impression on me as I was growing up” she says, “She was incredibly talented and always doing something creative. She worked as a wedding florist and then an embroiderer” she remembers the her work room being full of textiles, art and beautiful things.

What inspires you?

“I am continually inspired by good design, whether it’s a menu in a restaurant, a floral display in a shop or a painting. Anything that ignites an emotional response to its beauty, its layout or it’s colour influences me. I take a notebook everywhere and I am always photographing anything i find interesting. It may be a shop display, some beautiful architecture or a stunning garden.  I love helping my clients create wonderful environments that they enjoy and cherish.

How would you describe your personal style?

My own design preferences veer towards classic and artistic with a luxurious feel. I would say Kelly Wearstler, Jonathan Reed, Jean-Louis Deniot and the late Helen Green are my inspirations, I admire their approaches to design.

Are most of your projects based in Cheshire?

Currently we have projects in and around, Stockton Heath, Appleton, Stretton, Hatton, Hale, Bowden, Mere, Knutsford and Manchester. We are always happy to discuss projects further afield.

How do you balance client tastes with your own?

Whatever the project we work with our clients to create something unique and special to them. We listen carefully to their needs and ensure that every scheme reflects their personality and tastes. It’s really important to put your own style preferences aside and design a scheme that delights but is still very useable in every day life.

How long does it take to design and complete an interior scheme?

It completely depends on the type of project. A full house renovation design may take up to 12 months, co-ordinating and consulting with architects, builders and the changing requirements of the scheme, however, a single room refresh can be completed to suit the time frame of the client – many of our suppliers have stock ranges which we can draw upon when time is short.

Do you offer an advice only service?

We are happy to offer an advisory service for clients who may not require the full package and just need design direction. This is particularly useful for small businesses and clients who are moving to a new property.

What are your fees?

No matter how big or small your project is our rates are the same. Our first meeting with clients is always free and it gives us chance to get to know each other and discuss the scope of your design needs and helps us to advise the level of input you will require. Thereafter our design services are charged at a competitive hourly rate.
